Organic Farming 101

Organic and natural farming is gaining genuine roots these days (no pun intended). Dismissed as a gimmick right up until a short while ago, these days environmentalists and commercial farmers alike are discovering the importance of going organic, at least where farming is involved. So to speak, agriculture is responsible for a massive growth of synthetic chemicals into the ecosystem and the atmosphere we breathe in. The environmental footprint left behind from the majority of farming practices on a global level seems quite grim. It’s no wonder-and not too early-that the earth has woken up en masse and is actually thinking about the aftereffects of these widespread chemical utilization and tightening their reins now.
In short, most global economies have decided to veer towards using more organic ways of farming. Though this is not done simply by batting an eyelid-the entire change will require a complete renaissance regarding strategies and methodologies, the human and mechanical methods used and a humongous expense-a couple of practices being put into place. Many nations who’ve agreed to attest to organic farming seem to be incorporating these fresh ideals and carefully phasing out conventional, synthetic-laden methods of agriculture.
So, exactly what organic practices are being used? For one, the chemical fertilizers are being entirely done away with. In place of using synthetic products, the fundamental NPK (Nitrogen-Phosphorus-Potassium) ratio is being maintained by much more nature-friendly methods such as crop rotation. Plant seeds that are used are completely naturally obtained-they are not treated with any kind of insecticides or fungicides to ensure they are more productive. They are also not treated with hormones or genetically modified so as to produce “more desirable” types of plants. Organic farming states the plant life has to be preserved as close to their pure self as possible, with no tampering with them in any way.
Organic and natural farming believes in safeguarding the entire ecology of the field and not simply the crop, which is being grown. In place of using harmful pesticides, pests are diverted from the grounds by using more humane and environmentally friendly ways such as using barriers. A natural balance is retained among the wildlife that encourage the growth of the harvest and those that can generate some obvious kind of harm. The same applies to weed removal procedures. Organic farming abhors use of chemical substance weedicides. Physical removal techniques are usually encouraged and greater cultivation techniques are employed so that unwanted weeds never appear.
One reason why organic farming has virtually blossomed in many areas throughout the world today is that it conserves the earth and is a huge contributor to the Go Green Movement that’s hooked everyone at the moment. Organic farming manages the water and the soil by not pumping harmful chemicals into them. It takes care of the air as well because it prevents using any substances that might release toxic substances into the atmosphere. Thus, in several ways, it is actually great for our planet, and not just the field.
Considering all these good reasons, it isn’t difficult to work out why organic farming has gained priority above traditional farming methods presently. Despite the fact that organic crops are more expensive than traditional crops presently, individuals are discovering the enormous benefits they bring and do not mind having to pay more for this way that mother nature ordained us to reside with.
